The intrepid husband and wife team drove a completely standard Peugeot 308 HDi 110 hatchback on a 25 day, 9,000 mile journey around the coast of Australia. During the record breaking journey they broke two world records by recording an unprecedented 1192 miles on just 60 litres of diesel fuel and an average fuel consumption of 90.75 mpg. Honda will unveil next week, on May 29, a new model for the Japanese market. Called Freed, the future model will take the wraps off the all-new Jazz / Fit based minivan. Earlier reports suggested that the Freed will be able to accommodate eight passengers in three rows of seats. As for the engine range, don't expect any surprises as the Freed will most probably be offered with the same units found in the new Jazz – Fit. Lamborghini unveiled the first commercial for the 009 Gallardo LP560-4. Enjoy it! The Gallardo LP560-4 is powered by the new 5.2 litre V10 engine with an output of 560 PS (412 kW) at 8000 rpm. The increase of 40 PS compared with that of the previous Gallardo, and the approximate 20 kilogram reduction in weight, improves the power weight ratio to 2.5 kilograms per PS (hp) and thus enhances performance. Subaru today announced that the 2009 Subaru Forester earned the highest rating in the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) crash tests.
