General Motors Picks a Bigger Engine for the Volt

The General decides four cylinders are better than three, and normally aspirated is better than turbocharged - at least when it comes to charging the lithium-ion battery in the Chevrolet Volt. Oh, and it's cheaper, too.

Chrysler to stop leasing cars


Chrysler sent a message to consumers today: it doesn't want its cars back. Starting in August, Chrysler will no longer offer leasing at its dealerships. Lease programs have been popular in the past because after the lease period is up, the company is free to sell the car. Thus, the company would get paid for a portion of the car and wind up with the asset at the end. We've already brought you plenty of information on the possibility of an Infinity version of the new Nissan GT-R, also the possibility of a four-door version, but now the rumors are being combined. 2009 Kia Soul spy video


It looks like Kia is on the right track with the new Soul. This spy video shows an original design that seems to make the most of its compact space. The Soul will have its official debut this October at the Paris Auto Show. It will be powered by a 1.6-liter engine in gas and diesel forms. Both power units are based closely on the 16-valve DOHC engines fitted to the acclaimed European-built, Kia cee´d. Sales on the US market will begin in April 2009. (...)
